EFA member Diana owns and operates Nightmaiden Jewelry, where she sells beautiful jewelry and photography. She also cares for many rescued cats and supports them with the proceeds from her Etsy store. Diana was kind enough to write the story of her cat Murphie with us (the photo to the left is Murphie now).
We hope you enjoy meeting Murphie and Nightmaiden!
My family has always taken in stray cats and rescued animals. I found my love for animals in my work when I accepted a position as a vet assistant. I loved working with animals and making them better, but had to give up my position when I got married because we were planning to start a family and I couldn't be around the X-Ray and the anesthesia. However, I am still mommy to about a dozen kitties inside and out - plus whoever wanders in.
Here is the story of one of my rescue cats, Murphie:

This is part of a continuing series of articles that introduce EFA members and the work they do to help animals. We hope that you enjoy meeting Bonnie of WovenDreams.Bonnie Pulver of WovenDreams started her Dance with the Bunnies Rabbit Rescue over 10 years ago. She became a foster home for the rabbits from the Friends of the Pitt County Animal Shelter in North Carolina, and usually has eight to fifteen rabbits for adoption. The Pitt County Animal Shelter helps in Bonnie’s spay and neuter programme. All of the rabbits are spayed and neutered before being adopted by their new family in their forever home.
Over the years Bonnie’s rescue has grown as well as her responsibilities. She goes to local events to discuss rabbit care, and even has a TV spot every few months. She is also an animal cruelty investigator for Pitt County having being trained and sworn in by the county commissioner. She attends investigations when needed. Bonnie says that this is a difficult job for her to do as it can get very emotional. She is always accompanied on an investigation. The majority of investigations are for dogs, however Bonnie will take all rabbit calls.
